I find these are the basic ingredents for making mineral cosmetic: 1. Titaniun Dioxide / Zinc Oxide
2. Bismuth Oxychloride
3. Iron Oxide Pigments
You may also want to add a natural preservative and / or vitamins. I hope this helps :)

Eye Shadow Recipe. I found this one on the web.
Part one:
With Mortar or bowl and spoon, thourghly mix the following together:
5.5g Corn starch (2.5 tsp)
13g Arrowroot Powder (5 tsp)
2g Magnesium Sterate (2.5 tsp)
6ml Jojoba Oil (1 1/4 tsp)
Part one is a base batch in which you will only be using a small amount for this first recipe. Put part 1 into a sterile container and
make sure it is closed tightly.
Part 2
In Mortar or with spoon and bowl mix the following very well:
1.3g Arrowroot powder (.5 tsp)
2 drops Jojoba or castor oil
NOW take 1 tsp of part 1 and mix well with part 2. Once you have
achieved a homogenous mixture add Part 3
Part 3
1g Pigment (.5 tsp)

HOW TO BLEND PIGMENTS
Using the back of a spoon and a bowl press all the ingredients as you are mixing them against the side. If you are using a sparkle or glitter pigment be sure not to crush the mix. If the shade is too dark add part 1 at small increments (and I mean pinches) till you get the
color that you like. My friend suggests developing the color you like first and them adding just plain arrowroot powder to see what the color will be (this is not exact but will give a good idea).
Hope that you enjoy making the eye shadow!

I need some help I'm trying to make a self tanning cream and don't know way 80% of the ingredients listed here are. None of the ingredients are available on this site either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to know which of the items are the coloring agent and how to adjust the recipe darker or lighter.

I am really new at this ,so am starting out with simple recipes. What I need is "where can I purchase colour pigments (including D&C) and mica pigment) I have tried Health Food stores, but I am told that colours are a No-No.
Also I need a source for inexpensive containers for Lotions,or tubes, and little tubs for lip gloss.
I would appreciate any help or advice on these issues.
Thank you in advance.
(I currently live in Ontario,Canada, but will be moving to Texas in 2 years)I do have an American address if they only deal with U.S.

Hair detangler/Leave in Conditioner

1 cup distilled water
2 tsp. unscented cholesterol-type conditioner (available at beauty supply stores)
1/2 tsp. sweet almond oil
10 drops fragrance oil (if desired)

Heat the water and pour into a ceramic bowl. Add the conditioner and stir with a wire whisk until well blended. Add the sweet almond oil and fragrance oil (if desired) and stir until thoroughly mixed. Store in a spray-pump bottle.

Makes about 8 ounces.

If you would like more recipes feel free to contact me at pepperlopez Put "Recipes" in the subject line so I don't delete it.

Thanks!

What is the best way to mix a dry powder pigment into a thick cosmetic base, a shear mixer is prone to cavitate and affects the base consistancy. The loose powder is also difficult to introduce directly as it sits on the surface
